Programme lines
TNO‑ESI is committed to addressing the increasing challenges faced by our partners and participants by enhancing the quality and predictability of high‑tech embedded system design and engineering. To achieve this, we structure our work along five dedicated programme lines that together form a comprehensive approach to mastering system complexity. The five programme lines enable us to collaboratively develop, validate, and apply methodologies that strengthen the technological and competitive position of the high‑tech industry.

Systems architecting
Systems architecting / Systems engineering addresses the challenge of getting the system design right from the start by helping customers to translate market, product and technology choices into system concepts.

System lifecycle excellence
System lifecycle excellence focuses on design for system availability, reliability, maintainability, and maintenance support performance.

System evolution and diversity
System evolution and diversity anticipates future developments with the aim of minimizing and possible negative consequences to prolong the useful economical life of products and systems.

System-of-systems integration
System-of-systems integration context focuses on how to enable system to be aware of their context, to be open and to react to changes.

System qualities
System qualities focuses on quantitative design criteria for applications and their resources utilisation in trade-off with costs.
